Dispatcher - Texas

Turn Services - Port Arthur, Texas has an immediate opening for a Night Dispatcher. We are looking for a reliable, customer-oriented and highly motivated individual to join our team.

The Dispatcher will facilitate the communication of information between Vessel and Shoreside personnel including transmission of orders, gathering of traffic, coordination of dockside activities, and notification of incidents.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Coordinate harbor traffic for company fleets and charter boats

Review, update, and execute orders for boat/barge deliveries to maximize efficiency

Monitor emails and phone calls for barge orders and process data entry

Monitor, update, and communicate ship lists and schedules, line boat orders, barge pick-ups, and fleet space

Enter and process barge billing as required

Additional duties and responsibilities as required or requested

Participate in safety and industry audits while promoting a culture of safety EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Prior Customer Service experience is required.

Proficient computer and clerical skills EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

High School diploma or successful completion of GED

SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Must have good communication, comprehension, and interpersonal skills.

Must have the ability to speak, read, write, and understand English.

The ability to operate in a fast-paced environment.

Be a proactive problem solver with a high degree of organization.

Basic computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Outlook

Remain calm in high-pressure situations.

Ability to make quick decisions that meet established goals when under pressure. WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Must be available to work a 7 days on @ 12 hours per day / 7 days off schedule
