The Meriden Public Schools seeks applicants for an Elementary Technology Teacher
General Statement:
The Elementary Technology Teacher is responsible for teaching digital citizenship and computer science and applications in the K-5 Instructional setting. This position will provide instruction at multiple elementary schools within the district.
General Duties and Responsibilities:
Implement the Elementary Computer Science and Digital Citizenship curriculum
Model digital citizenship and information fluency
Work with students and help them become digitally literate and responsible digital citizens
Collaborate with grade-level teams in order to infuse technology into the curriculum
Enrich teaching and learning by supporting teachers and students to develop technology skills
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Technology or Principal
Qualifications:
A strong background in educational technology.
Demonstrated success as a classroom teacher with knowledge and mastery of a variety of technologies and effective instructional strategies.
Demonstrated ability to support learning and curriculum alignment and develop effective lessons aligned with ISTE Standards for Students
Ideal candidates should work well with others and have clear goals and strategies for integrating technology into instruction.
A valid Connecticut certification with endorsement for elementary education is required.
Salary:
$135 per day for the first 39 days, BA Step 4 per diem thereafter
