Description:

Responsibilities include technical expertise in preparing instruments, equipment, and supplies for the Ambulatory Surgical Center, adhering to principles of sterile techniques. This position is responsible for the proper care and handling of instruments and assists clinical staff by performing supportive services.

Key Responsibilities:

Follow policies, protocols, techniques, and manufacturer's guidelines when reprocessing, assembling, and maintaining specialized instruments and equipment utilized in the operating room and patient care areas.

Ensure proper care of instruments and equipment, adhering to manufacturer's guidelines. Participate in quality assurance and recommend changes as necessary.

Document required information and maintain records for instruments and equipment.

Engage in continuous education and training in all areas of sterile processing, including decontamination, cleaning, assembly, wrapping, sterilization, and storage processes in alignment with professional standards and regulations.

Identify, pick, and distribute supplies and stock items, including fulfilling equipment requests and delivering them to appropriate areas. Monitor stock levels and assist in maintaining inventory levels in sterile processing.

Provide biological and chemical test solutions to ensure quality and consistency for the decontamination of instruments and medical equipment.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED

2+ years of certified sterile processing experience

Previous OR or Med Surg experience in a health care facility

Certified Sterile Processor (HSPA or CBSPD)

Must have travel experience

Preferred:

Orthopedic tray experience

Behavioral Characteristics and Skills:

Certified Sterile Processor (HSPA or CBSPD)

2 years of certified sterile processing experience

High School Diploma or GED

Previous OR or Med Surg experience in a health care facility

Orthopedic tray experience (Nice to have)
