Job Title: Roller Operator

Overview: Suit-Kote Corporation, a leading Asphalt products manufacturer, road construction and maintenance and asphalt application engineering company is seeking candidates for Roller Operators.

Safety Expectations: All Suit-Kote employees are required to comply with all safety rules and to observe safe work practices and operating procedures at all times. Whenever on Suit-Kote property or job sites, or operating Suit- Kote equipment, employees are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that promotes the safety of the employee, co-workers and others.

Responsibilities/Job Duties:

Have a strong knowledge of hot mix asphalt rollers of varying sizes

Proficient in operation of hot mix / cold mix asphalt rollers

Understanding of compaction requirements

Basic understanding of rolling patterns required to achieve desired results

Ability to maintain equipment

Have the ability and willingness to dig, spread and level construction materials with a shovel

Work with others to help complete tasks in a timely manner

Ability to labor

Varying types of work including: digging, flagging, concrete work, backfill pipe

Basic troubleshooting

Required Skills/Abilities:

*1 Year minimum experience required*

Reliable transportation to and from work

Strong work ethic

Physical Organization and time management

Flexibility in hours - overtime and weekend hours may be necessary

Working knowledge of general hand tools and power tools

CDL License a plus

Passing a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening is required and a background check will be conducted

Consent to a DMV license evaluation

Must have or be willing to obtain an OSHA 10 Hour Safety Certificate

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds

Observe and comply with necessary PPE requirements

Must be able to work in a noisy area with many odors present

Bending, stretching, stooping, kneeling, crawling and squatting

Other Preferred Qualities:

Ability to read and understand SDS

Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)

High school diploma or GED - a two year technical degree is preferred

Basic math skills

Position is considered full time, but seasonal in nature, with anticipated lay-off in the November thru March time-frame. Site specific locations may have varying seasonal requirements that can extend or contract these timeframes.

Salary: $16 - $55.00
