Job Title: Facilities Manager
Location: Groveport, Gahanna, Columbus, OH
Duration:12+ months (Looking to convert to permanent)
Hours: M-F 8-5
Role Summary
The Facilities Manager will oversee day-to-day building operations, ensuring efficient performance of all facility systems, vendor services, and engineering teams across multiple sites. This role requires a hands-on technical leader with strong experience in MEP systems, facilities operations, and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Facilities Operations
Oversee building operations across all assigned locations
Ensure proper functioning of all building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems
Monitor and manage facility assets and infrastructure performance
Support preventive and corrective maintenance programs
Team Leadership
Manage and support:
Assistant Facilities Manager (AFM)
Chief Engineer and engineering team
Provide direction, coaching, and performance oversight
Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and operational excellence
Vendor & Service Management
Manage vendors supporting both:
Hard services (HVAC, electrical, plumbing)
Soft services (janitorial, etc.)
Coordinate service delivery and ensure quality and compliance
Oversee vendor performance, contracts, and service levels
Emergency & Risk Management
Lead response to facility-related emergencies and critical issues
Ensure proper emergency protocols and procedures are in place
Act as escalation point for major operational issues
Work Planning & Site Coordination
Develop and manage site schedules across multiple locations
Travel between sites as needed to support operations
Prioritize work orders, maintenance tasks, and operational needs
Must-Have Skills
Strong technical facilities background (hands-on)
Experience with MEP systems (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing)
Solid understanding of building operations and maintenance
Proven leadership and team management experience
Strong decision-making and ownership mindset
Prior Facilities Manager experience
Nice-to-Have Skills
Strong electrical background
Facilities certifications such as FMP (Facilities Management Professional) or similar
Years of Experience
Minimum 3+ years of relevant facilities management experience
Education
Open (relevant experience prioritized)
Facilities or technical certifications preferred
Software Skills
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Experience with CMMS or facilities systems is a plus
