Job Description Instrumentation Operation EngineerEdwards AFB JT4 is seeking an Instrumentation Operation Engineer for their Edwards AFB located in California.Must be a US citizen.
The Instrumentation Operation Engineer will modify, install, test, evaluate, repair, and document airborne test instrumentation, and data acquisition systems, as well as the operation and performance of ground support equipment.Functions - DutiesConduct research and reference reading to assist higher-level engineers in obtaining technical information; keeps informed of currently approved standards, codes, and procedures applied to engineering specialtyPerform engineering tasks that are varied, with established deadlines that may be somewhat difficult in characterPlan and carry out successive engineering steps to resolve technical problems by standard practices and techniques such as tolerance studies and design calculationsSupport projects with limited scope or parts of more complex projects with detailed instructions on the intent and scope of the documents to be preparedGenerate sections of design specifications of more complex projects or complete specifications of less complex projectUsing computer-assisted test methods, conduct laboratory investigations on equipment or systemsAssist in preparation of reports, correspondence, or technical studiesPrepare, deliver, and submits technical presentations for in-process design and review meetingsPerform a variety of engineering tasks under general supervision of a senior-level engineer and any other position-related duties as assigned or requestedPreferred experience:Analog and digital electronic fundamentals, familiar with various sensors like strain gauges, accelerometers, and thermal sensors, while also possessing an understanding of digital logic and EU conversionsMulti-meter, O-scope, spectrum analyzer, signal generator, to accomplish tasks such as checkout, calibration, troubleshooting and repairSchematics, mechanical drawings, wire diagrams, wire repair, block diagrams and technical publicationsIRIG 106 Telemetry Standards & TTC hardware/softwareA variety of electrical, instrumentation, and avionics on aircraft including bench testingREQUIREMENTS - EDUCATION, TECHNICAL AND WORK EXPERIENCEBachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET-accredited academic institution with two years of related engineering experience, or have an accredited Master of Science in Engineering.Must currently hold, or be eligible to obtain, a DoD security clearance and required special access.Must possess a valid, state issued driver's license.Must be a US citizen.SALARY The expected salary range for this position is $92,000 - $160,000 annually.
