Job Title: Equipment Operator II – Printing & Reproduction Services
Employment Type: Full-Time with Benefits
Work Authorization: U.S. Citizenship is required due to federal government contract requirements.
Work Mode: Onsite, Washington, DC
Security Clearance & Compliance Requirements:
Contractor personnel must comply with the security policies and procedures of the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts.
All personnel must sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) and adhere to requirements for handling sensitive information.
Position Overview:
The Equipment Operator II is the primary technical personnel responsible for independently performing print production, reproduction, scanning, and finishing services within the Printing and Distribution Branch (PDB) to support federal judiciary operations.
Responsibilities:
Receive, review, schedule, and execute printing and reproduction requests.
Operate high-speed digital printing equipment, including black-and-white, color, and large-format printers.
Perform binding, finishing, laminating, folding, trimming, drilling, and other post-production tasks.
Conduct document scanning and convert files to electronic formats (PDF, TIFF, etc.).
Maintain quality control and troubleshoot production issues.
Interact with clients and internal staff to clarify specifications and resolve conflicts.
Support production workflow, prioritize jobs, and ensure timely delivery.
Conduct routine maintenance and coordinate service of printing equipment.
Experience Required:
Minimum three (3) years in printing and reproduction services, including:
Two (2) years general experience with black-and-white and color digital printing.
One (1) year specialized experience in high-speed document scanning and production software.
Experience with high-speed copiers (Xerox, Canon, or equivalent) and digital production workflows.
Experience operating binding and finishing equipment (laminators, cutters, folders, staplers, GBC/Quantum/Challenger systems).
Experience with print workflow tools such as PRISMA and/or Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Acrobat) preferred.
Preferred Skills:
Proficiency operating digital printing and finishing equipment.
Ability to conduct quality control and troubleshoot print production issues.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple jobs simultaneously.
Customer service and communication skills.
Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word).
Educational Qualifications:
High School Diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
