Baker Tilly (Barbados) SCC is an independent member firm of Baker Tilly International, a global
top 10 professional services network firm, provides audit, tax, consulting and financial advisory
services to a diverse range of clients in all areas of activities of public, private and non -profit
organizations. Baker Tilly is currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Finance
Manager/ Financial Controller to lead our multi company accounts department and drive the digital
transformation of finance. The successful candidate will manage day-to-day accounting and reporting,
strengthen internal controls, and implement accounting software and automation to streamline all
financial processes across the office
Key responsibilities
Lead the accounts team: supervise accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger,
payroll coordination, month-end and year-end close activities.
Financial reporting & compliance: prepare timely management accounts, statutory financial
statements, and tax schedules; ensure compliance with IFRS and local tax requirements.
Systems implementation & automation: lead selection, configuration and roll-out of
accounting/ERP software and complementary automation tools; design workflows to automate
journal entries, reconciliations, invoicing, and reporting.
Process design & controls: document and optimise accounting processes; implement robust
internal controls and segregation of duties.
Budgeting & forecasting: coordinate annual budgets, periodic forecasts and variance
analysis; present insights to senior management.
Stakeholder management: liaise with external auditors, IT vendors and internal business
units; train finance staff on new systems and processes.
Continuous improvement: identify opportunities to reduce manual work, improve data quality
and accelerate close cycles.
Required qualifications & experience
Professional accounting qualification (CA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent).
Minimum 6 8 years progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a
supervisory or managerial role.
Proven experience implementing, operating and using accounting/ERP systems (e.g.,
QuickBooks Online, Microsoft Dynamics or similar) and integrating automation tools (RPA,
workflow engines, reporting tools).
Strong technical skills: advanced Excel; experience with financial reporting tools and data
extraction/ETL concepts.
Solid knowledge of Barbados tax and statutory reporting requirements and familiarity with IFRS.
Excellent communication and people-management skills.
