Wald Wire is looking for a skilled, self-sufficient Machine Operator to take ownership of our straighten and cut operations. This role is ideal for someone who doesn’t need constant direction—someone who can step in, set up equipment, troubleshoot issues, and keep production running smoothly.
If you’re mechanically inclined, can read blueprints, and take pride in doing things right the first time, we want to talk to you.
What You’ll Do
-Machine Setup & Operation
Set up and operate wire straightening and cutting equipment
Adjust machine settings based on product specifications
Keep machines running efficiently with minimal downtime
-Maintenance & Troubleshooting
Identify and resolve mechanical issues (non-electrical)
Perform routine cleaning, lubrication, and basic maintenance
Assist with equipment checks and performance improvements
-Production Execution
Read work orders, blueprints, and production schedules
Ensure materials, dimensions, and tolerances meet specifications
Track production output and support inventory accuracy
-Quality Control
Inspect finished products using calipers and measuring tools
Ensure accuracy and consistency of all parts produced
Complete required production and quality documentation
-Material Handling & Operations
Load and unload raw materials into machines
Operate forklifts and other equipment safely
Move materials, spools, and finished goods as needed
What You Bring
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
Ability to read blueprints and measurements accurately
Experience in manufacturing or machine operation preferred
Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision
Basic math skills (fractions & decimals)
Forklift experience or willingness to get certified
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for extended periods
Frequent lifting up to 50 lbs (100 lbs with assistance)
Bending, reaching, and working in varying temperatures
Use of required PPE (safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, etc.)
