Overview

We are in search of a talented Senior Systems Developer who will contribute to enhancing aviation safety, driving operational analytics, and advancing technology modernization efforts. This position requires the development, implementation, and maintenance of innovative software solutions, algorithms, and visualizations that support data-driven decision-making within the National Airspace System (NAS).

The ideal candidate will have a robust background in computer programming, data analysis, and software development, combined with experience in aviation or complex technical environments. You will play a vital role in a collaborative effort within engineering, analytics, and technical planning teams to leverage advanced computational methods that enhance safety, efficiency, and operational performance.

Key Responsibilities

Utilize computer programming and analytical skills to create code, implement algorithms, and deliver software solutions that enhance aviation safety and operational analysis.

Design and develop dashboards, data visualizations, and analytics tools to aid in FAA decision-making and reporting.

Perform text mining, data extraction, and data integration to derive technical, safety, or operational insights.

Leverage state-of-the-art simulation environments, laboratories, and test facilities to create, validate, and deploy software solutions.

Engage in engineering, technical, or analytical teams, providing strategic guidance and assisting in technical planning processes.

Apply principles of computer science, programming techniques, and mathematical methodologies to tackle complex aviation and technical challenges.

Ensure all developed solutions comply with FAA, federal, and organizational standards for quality, safety, and operational integrity.

Prepare comprehensive documentation, reports, and presentations to effectively communicate findings, methodologies, and suggestions.

Required Qualifications

U.S Citizen or Green Card Permanent Resident (3+ years U.S. Residency)

Ability to obtain FAA Public Trust.

Experience with FAA and the aviation environment.

Education and Experience:

Doctorate in Computer Science, Programming, Engineering, or a related technical/analytical field with 10+ years of experience, or

Master's degree with 15+ years of relevant experience; or

Bachelor's degree with 17+ years of relevant experience. Note: 5 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's Degree.

Demonstrated expertise in software development, algorithm implementation, and data visualization.

Familiarity with text mining, data analytics, and programming languages such as Python, R, Java, C++, or similar.

Proven capacity to apply computational techniques to complex, safety-critical, or technical systems.

Strong problem-solving, analytical, and technical communication skills.

Experience in aviation, aerospace, or highly regulated technical environments is preferred.

Desired Qualifications

Experience supporting FAA programs, NAS operations, or aviation safety analytics.

Knowledge of software development best practices, version control, and collaborative development environments.

Familiarity with data engineering, machine learning, or AI/ML applications within aviation or operational contexts.

Experience integrating software solutions with dashboards, visualization tools, and operational analytics platforms.

Familiarity with advanced simulation and test facilities used in aviation or aerospace research.

Projected compensation for this role ranges from USD $127,100.00 to USD $198,575.00 per year, reflecting factors such as education, certifications, skills, experience, and compliance with labor regulations.
