Pay Rate: $52 – $62/hour (based on experience; final rate determined by hiring manager)

Schedule: Day Shift (8 hours)

Duration: Up to 1 year

Job Overview

We are seeking a Senior Structural Design Engineer to join our Engineering Services team in Decatur, IL. This role will primarily support facility CapEx improvement projects while also contributing to broader engineering initiatives.

This is a high-impact role for a seasoned engineer who can independently manage structural design projects from concept through completion in an industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities

Plan, schedule, and execute structural engineering work for major and moderate-scale projects

Perform full-cycle structural design and detailing for industrial facilities

Design and analyze steel structures, concrete systems, and foundations

Address complex engineering challenges, including conflicting design requirements and material limitations

Coordinate across disciplines to ensure project alignment and successful execution

Review project progress with leadership and provide technical recommendations

Recommend improvements to engineering processes and procedures

Prepare technical reports and documentation

May supervise engineers and/or technicians on project assignments

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Structural, Agricultural, or Architectural Engineering (structural emphasis)

10+ years of structural engineering experience in industrial or similar environments

Strong expertise in:

Steel and concrete design

Foundation systems

Ability to work independently and manage multiple project phases

Excellent written and verbal communication skills
