Support and monitor initial assessment and management of every patient coming to the triage, with the help of the Senior Medical Officers.

Accompany the patient being shifted from triage to the ICU.

Assess and appropriately manage the patients admitted and ensure that the consultant’s orders are carried out timely.

Report any fresh development (especially clinical deterioration) of the patient to the concerned consultant.

Type the discharge summaries / death summaries.

Carry-out bedside procedures like tapping & to accompany unstable patients for radiological investigations.

Medical Officer on duty in triage is to do the required documentation in medico-legal cases. Need to go for court evidence as an expert witness when called for.

Need to attend local and out-station medical camps when called for.

Need to give medical cover for sports events and social events when called for by the management.

Accompany Consultant Doctors on IPD Ward visits.

During the absence of the Consultant - Pay timely visits to in-patients and treat the patients along the indicated line of treatment.

Conduct medical procedure under supervision after getting the consent from patient’s attendant.

Implementation of Quality (ISO/NABH/JCI) protocols in patient care.

Complete and correct documentation of patient file & records.

Check and authorize all diagnostic requisition slips.

Make available emergency medicines in ICU and IP Ward.

Monitor the Nursing care Proper Medication, timely vitals recording etc. Inspect maintenance of the Patient ward during duty.

Attend emergencies and inform consultant doctors for further action.

Provide information regarding the patient’s condition to his/her attendant whenever required.

Check the diet chart, medicine chart, vitals chart frequently.

Coordinate with all nursing/Para medical & non-medical staff of the department to maintain high standard of medical care to the patients.

Doctor is required to go for ambulance call duties as per the roster maintained in the Emergency for transporting patients to the hospital.

Any other tasks assigned by the HOD/ management from time to time.

Desired Profile

- Should be a citizen of India.

- Should have completed MBBS as per Medical Council India.

- Should possess Karnataka Medical Council Certificate.

- Psychology - Knowledge of human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; learning and motivation; psychological research methods; and the assessment and treatment of behavioral and affective disorders.

- Medicine - Knowledge of the information and techniques needed to diagnose and treat human injuries, diseases, and deformities. This includes symptoms, treatment alternatives, drug properties and interactions, and preventive health-care measures.
