This position will serve as a Medical Billing Specialist and customer service specialist for the Dental Faculty Practice OMFS. This role will perform, coding medical and dental, prior authorization submission for providers and facility for in-patient and out-patient services, appeals process, submission of both medical claim form CMS 1500 and dental claims including attachments, patient billing, sends Good Faith Estimates; manages A/R including tracking returned signed, patient collection, posting of payments, follow up on delinquent claims, update spreadsheets for communication amongst team member and providers.
Technical skills: Must be able to switch from one task to another in a day with minimal errors and strong follow up skills with a keen attention to detail. Proficient in Microsoft office and Epic. Experience with medical and dental coding.
Soft Skills. Great customer service with problem solving skills to obtain payment.
Work Schedule
Onsite, Monday – Friday 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Physical Requirements
Work is performed primarily in an office environment and the employee in this class is subject to inside environmental conditions. This position requires sustained periods using a keyboard and performing other computer work. Requires sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes, which permits the employee to function in a general office environment to accomplish tasks. Ability to lift 25 pounds with or without accommodation.
Experience and Education
Required: High School diploma or GED. Certification or vocational training may be required. 4 years of relevant experience required.

This position requires successful completion of background check(s) and drug & alcohol screening.
Desired: 6 or more years of relevant experience preferred. Associate degree in relevant field may be preferred. At least 1 year in a professional office. Medical and/or dental preferable working with EHR, collecting patient payments.
