Job Description

Are you mechanically inclined, dependable, and ready to work with your hands? This is a great opportunity for someone who takes pride in producing high-quality work with precision and consistency. This role involves operating and supporting production machinery used to manufacture steel pipe components that meet tight length and thread tolerances. You will be responsible for setting up and running automatic threading machines, inspecting parts to ensure quality standards are met, and performing routine preventive maintenance while troubleshooting basic mechanical issues as they arise.

Responsibilities

Prepare and run automatic threading machines used in the manufacturing of steel pipe nipples.

Check parts using precision measuring tools to verify length, thread accuracy, and compliance.

Perform routine preventive maintenance and identify/troubleshoot machine issues as they arise.

Adhere strictly to safety guidelines and consistently wear all required personal protective equipment.

Log production output, material consumption, and part quantities with accuracy and attention to detail.

Coordinate with supervisors, shipping, and teammates to ensure production objectives are met.

Support general shop operations and maintain a clean, well-organized workstation.

Essential Skills

Set up and operate machinery.

Measure and inspect parts.

Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshoot issues.

Ability to read measuring tools such as tape measures and calipers.

Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for long periods.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

High school diploma or GED preferred.

Previous experience in a shop or manufacturing environment preferred.

Technical drawing or blueprint reading is a plus.

Willingness to learn and take direction in a team atmosphere.

Work Environment

You will work in a manufacturing environment where safety is a priority. The role requires wearing personal protective equipment and adhering to safety procedures at all times. The work involves standing for long periods and occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs. The shop is organized, and cleanliness is maintained to ensure a smooth production process.Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Louis, MO.Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.27 - $19.27/hr.
