Toledo Clinic's Kouba Dermatology Department is seeking a part-time MOHS Nurse or Tech to assist our MOHS surgeons in the ADRIAN MICHIGAN office. This position will be scheduled every other Friday (7:30am - 2:30pm)

General Summary:

Assist physician(s) with patient treatment, prepares patient for physician(s), and performs post-operative top stitching.

This is a part-time surgical nursing/assisting position in our Adrian, Michigan office. This position will primarily assist the physician with Mohs surgery. In addition to clinical duties, this position will be responsible for charting physician findings/procedures in Dermatology-specific EMR software. This position will be responsible for returning patient calls, answering patient questions and providing patient education.

Works directly under the supervision of the Mohs surgeon.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

Assists with patient care (i.e.: assisting with minor procedures/surgeries such as removing sutures, staples, moles, etc.).

Escorting patients to exam room.

Preparing exam rooms.

Preparing patient for physician (i.e.: histories, blood pressure, vitals, etc.).

Assist with Mohs Surgeries

Perform post-operative top stitching

Chart physician findings/procedures performed

Place follow up calls to patients

Obtain prior authorizations and biologics paperwork

Administering injections.

At the request of the physician, request prescription refills.

Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

Required:

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.

- High level of reliability and professionalism is expected.

- Seeks appropriate tasks when primary tasks are completed and assists co-workers as needed.

- Demonstrates adaptability to expanded roles.

- Previous Dermatology/Mohs experience preferred.

- Active LPN/RN licensure in Michigan. Requires current licensure in Ohio or ability to obtain OH license.

- Will also consider experienced RMA, Mohs Tech, Certified Dermatology Tech

- Adheres to all Toledo Clinic policies and procedures.

Education:

- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) in Michigan

- Mohs Tech,

- Registered Medical Assistant (AMT)

- Certified Dermatology Tech.

Part-time
