Position Description
Transport Drivers will provide transportation services, using company vehicles, for clients of Northwest Passage programs. Transportation services are needed for, but are not limited to, intakes to programs, discharges to clients’ next placement, court appearances, medical and dental appointments, clinician appointments, visits, interviews, and intra-program needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Maintain safety and supervision of residents.
Communicate effectively and appropriately with clients, facility staff, supervisors, and co-workers. This includes both verbally and in writing if necessary.
Complete documentation related to transportation services and/or clientele issues that may occur during a scheduled trip.
Follow all WI DOT laws governing driving and use of vehicles on public roadways.
Ensure that all passengers are wearing seatbelts and that the doors of the vehicle remain locked once it is moving.
Maintain the cleanliness of the vehicle, and take time after each transport to ensure that no trash or personal items have been left behind in the vehicle.
Refuel vehicle after each transport to ensure the vehicle is ready to go for the next run.
Report any vehicle maintenance needs to the transportation coordinator in a timely manner.
Maintain a responsible and respectful manner as a representative of Northwest Passage.
Read and follow the policies and procedures of Northwest Passage as stated in the Policies and Procedures Manual.
Qualifications
Valid Driver’s License
Able to pass driving history standards for insurance company
Must pass a criminal background check
Communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with clients, staff, and others
Neat, clean, and professional appearance
Helpful attitude and friendly demeanor
