What does a Security Guard do in Red Deer?

Manage difficult or irate callers. De-escalate tense situations over the phone

Engagement with customers, employees and visitors on the property

Regular interior, exterior patrols and checking all doors are secured

Surveillance of CCTV cameras, alarms, and access control systems

Performing in high risk situations, with potentially high risk individuals

Respond promptly and decisively to security incidents or emergencies

Apprehend offenders and turn them over to appropriate authorities

Document all the incidents and prepare reports.

Perform fire and life safety checks

Qualifications, Skills and Experience for a Security Guard in Red Deer

Valid provincial security guard license

Flexible availability including overnight shifts

Advanced telephone skills- engage with callers, handle routine inquires or requests

Computer skills- experience with data entry and documentation. Create and edit digital records

Advanced interpersonal and proactive engagement skills with demonstrating active listening skills by fully focusing on other

Ability to respond effectively to active threats or violent incidents with speed, precision and decisiveness

Maintain awareness of surrounding and potential risks

High school diploma or equivalent

Criminal justice or police foundations diploma is an asset

First aid and CPR certification is an asset

Minimum 1 year of security guard experience

Minimum 1 year of customer service experience

Legally entitled to work in Canada
