Position Overview

We are seeking a spiritually mature and experienced Small Group Pastor with a clear calling to ministry to lead and develop our small group (cell/fellowship) system.

This role is central to discipleship, pastoral care, teaching, and spiritual leadership, ensuring every member is connected, nurtured, and growing in faith.

The position is structured as a Minister of Religion role, involving core spiritual responsibilities such as leading prayer, teaching the Bible, and providing pastoral oversight.

Key Responsibilities

Provide overall leadership and oversight of the church’s small group (cell) system

Develop and implement strategies for discipleship, member integration, and spiritual growth

Lead and coordinate prayer meetings, small group gatherings, and discipleship sessions

Teach the Word of God in small group settings and leadership trainings, ensuring sound biblical doctrine

Recruit, train, and mentor small group leaders for effective ministry

Provide pastoral care, spiritual guidance, and mentorship to leaders and members

Ensure effective follow-up and integration of new members into small groups

Monitor the health, growth, and spiritual engagement of all groups

Organise leadership trainings, Bible teaching sessions, and discipleship programmes

Work closely with pastoral and administrative teams to align small groups with the church’s vision

Support church-wide services, prayer programmes, and ministry activities

Qualifications & Requirements

A committed Christian with a clear calling to pastoral and teaching ministry

Demonstrated experience in leading small groups, discipleship, or pastoral ministry

Strong ability in prayer leadership and Bible teaching

Sound knowledge of biblical doctrine and Christian living

Proven ability to provide pastoral leadership, mentoring, and spiritual oversight

Leadership experience within a church or ministry setting

Strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills

Ability to develop and manage structured discipleship systems

Completion of RCCG Workers in Training programme and/or RCCG School of Discipleship (or equivalent RCCG-recognised training)

Theological training or ministry qualification (or equivalent ministry experience)
