As a Design Architect working with the Advanced Facilities group, you will help us design state-of-the-art mission critical, pharmaceutical, semiconductor, life sciences buildings, and other advanced facilities powering our virtual world today and into the future.
Working with our team in Columbus, OH, you will have the opportunity to support business development and client engagement, as well as promote overall design quality.
You will be part of a team performing conceptual, layout, and detailed design tasks, coordinating design and construction activities, studies, and various analyses.
You'll also have the chance to utilize your technical expertise mentoring junior team members.
As a Design Architect, you will: Under general supervision, competently perform all conventional aspects of architectural design and analysis: * Plan and conduct work requiring judgement and evaluation, selection and adaptation of architectural techniques and criteria * Exercise sound judgement and problem-solving skills, not hesitating to reach out to others for guidance or confirmation when questions arise.
Exhibit a high level of attention to detail and quality control: * Be committed to to checking your own work, reaching out to peers and seniors for guidance when questions arise.
* Perform checking of others' work.
Be responsible for managing your own workload, making and keeping commitments, and taking ownership of your assigned work: * Work in a timely, accurate, and cost-effective manner with strong attention to detail.
Develop leadership and coaching skills: * Provide technical guidance and mentorship to designers and less experienced architects.
Motivate and coordinate small to medium sized architecture teams.
* Be proactive in advancing workflows, systems, and tools within the architectural discipline.

On an assigned project: * Lead a team of designers responsible for an area of design in the technical design, construction drawings, specifications, and model creation.
* Attend project meetings and take an active role to help team resolve concerns and solve problems across all disciplines.
* Participate in internal, cross-discipline, and external project quality reviews.

* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited Architectural program * Professional Architecture license in US * At least 7 years of architecture experience * Experience with building codes and specifications * Proficiency with Revit * Effective interpersonal, leadership, and collaboration skills * Solid verbal and written communication skills * Ability to work onsite for construction work Ideally, you'll also have: * Experience with semiconductor, mission critical, life sciences, mission critical, bio pharma, life sciences buildings, or other advanced facilities * Experience with with Sketch up, Adobe Suite, Bluebeam Revu, and Navisworks * LEED accredited * Desire to travel #afelectronics #LI-MP1 #architect Jacobs is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
