Reporting to the Operations Manager, the SMT Process Engineer will be responsible for optimizing manufacturing performance and leading the facility and maintenance operations within the aerospace and industrial manufacturing environment. This role focuses on process improvement, equipment reliability, Project Management and team leadership to ensure maximum uptime and operational efficiency.

Drive process improvements using Lean/Six Sigma; lead root cause analysis

Oversee facility systems (HVAC, utilities, electrical, mechanical) and ensure compliance

Implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs to reduce downtime

Lead and develop maintenance team, track KPIs, and drive performance

Manage budgets, vendors, and spare parts inventory

Execute capital projects including equipment installs and facility upgrades

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Process Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Facilities Management or related discipline required.

Minimum of 3+ years of experience with specialized experience maintaining the efficient operation of Surface Mount Technology equipment

Minimum of 5+ years of experience managing process engineering and/or facility projects.

Prior experience leading teams.

Proficiency in maintenance planning tools.

Strong understanding of reliability engineering principles.

Knowledge of regulatory and safety compliance requirements and building/facility systems.

Strong analytical skills with a focus on process optimization and problem-solving.

Strong leadership, communication and team-building abilities.

Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and work cross-functionally.

Nice to have certifications (not required):

CMRP, Lean Six Sigma, CFM, OSHA 30, PMP

The expected salary depending on the level of experience: 95K-120K + bonus

SMT Process Engineer role isn't just someone technical-it's a hybrid of process expert, operations leader, and hands-on problem solver.

Experienced in Surface Mount Technology (SMT) and understands manufacturing at a systems level. electronics manufacturing, ideally in aerospace/defense or other high-reliability environments

Strong knowledge of:

SMT lines (pick-and-place, reflow ovens, AOI, SPI, etc.)

Process optimization methods like Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma

Comfortable analyzing data, troubleshooting defects, and improving yield and uptime
