CNC Machine Operator – 2nd Shift
Job Summary:
The CNC Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machines to produce precision parts according to engineering specifications. This role ensures high-quality production, efficiency, and safety in a manufacturing environment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Set up, operate, and monitor CNC machines (mills, lathes, routers, or grinders) according to job orders and blueprints.
Read and interpret technical drawings, engineering specifications, and work orders to ensure accuracy.
Load materials, fixtures, and tools, and make adjustments to machines as needed for optimal performance.
Perform quality inspections using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other measurement tools to ensure parts meet specifications.
Troubleshoot and resolve minor machine issues to minimize downtime.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace and adhere to all safety procedures and company policies.
Document production data, machine maintenance, and inspection results in logs or manufacturing systems.
Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and team members to improve processes and product quality.
Perform routine preventative maintenance on CNC equipment to ensure long-term functionality.
Qualifications:
Experience operating CNC machines in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
Proficient in using measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot machine issues.
Familiarity with CNC programming or G-code is a plus.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
