Lead Web Developer

Summary/Objective

The Lead Web Developer will be responsible for developing and maintaining various aspects of our B2C website that will improve the Company's growing web presence. She/he will be expected to take technical leadership on the development of our web-based projects as well as support ongoing maintenance of our B2C website.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Initiate the research, planning, development, collaboration, and documentation of website related projects; communicate and collaborate with project leads and other software developers on multiple, simultaneous projects

Guide and support the maintenance and enhancement of our current B2C and blog sites; taking into consideration frontend layout and user experience

Lead the role in interfacing with Digital, IT and Development teams to gather requirements, define scope of work, prioritize workload, communicate timeline and manage expectations

Lead and mentor a small team of dedicated B2C developers

Create new functionalities, enhancements, maintenance, and testing

Adjust themes for templates, layouts, CSS, Javascript, and other components of the front end of a Magento site

Partner with the Marketing team in converting digital assets to web ready formats

Take a lead role in establishing and documenting website processes, functionalities, development standards and common components for usage across all applications Competencies

This position requires limited travel; 0-25%, position is based out of NY Qualifications and Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Sciences or Engineering required and/or equivalent of 5+ years of experience

Expert knowledge of current/emerging web technologies: HTML5/CSS3, JS, JS Framework (i.e.: Angular, React, Backbone, etc.), jQuery, MySQK, PHP, and GIT

Experience developing responsive/adaptive layouts

Must have experience working in terminal

Prior experience developing API's utilizing REST architecture

Ability to write high-performance, reusable code for UI components

Passion for performance, debugging and benchmarking

In-depth experience developing numerous web-based applications (5+ years)

Experience with Scrum and an Agile Development environment

Knowledge of Hybris, ATG, or IBM, Oracle a plus

Strong portfolio of work showing experience developing standards-compliant front-end code for web and mobile web

Experience developing for Magento E-Commerce (5+ years)

WordPress experience preferred

Image processing applications (Ps, Ai, Id)
