Description:

The APEX Power Co. Project in Hubbard, TX, currently under Phase 1 construction, is expected to expand to 1.6 GW. It features a diverse mix of generation technologies, including Siemens SGT-800/400 simple cycle turbines, MAN/Everllence 18V51/60G gas reciprocating engines, GE LM6000/LM2500 simple cycle turbines, Pratt & Whitney FT8 simple cycle turbines, and a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), enabling flexible, reliable power output. Future expansion may include additional GE aero and large frame units (6B, 7FA/7FB/7H) in simple or combined cycle configurations, allowing the plant to efficiently meet varying energy demands while supporting data center grid reliability.

Opportunity Summary

As Maintenance Planner / Scheduler at APEX Power Co. Project, you will support both pre-commissioning and operations by developing maintenance programs, configuring CMMS, and ensuring spare parts and work packages are ready for startup. You will plan and execute maintenance for aero-derivative turbines, reciprocating engines, BESS, and balance-of-plant systems, optimizing unit availability, reliability, and fleet performance while coordinating outages and reliability initiatives. This role partners with Operations, Engineering, and Warehouse teams to align maintenance with dispatch priorities, support capital projects, and drive continuous improvement across a multi-asset, high-flexibility generation site.

As Maintenance Planner / Scheduler, your responsibilities specific to the Pre-Commissioning Phase include the following functions:

Develop baseline maintenance programs and asset strategies by translating OEM documentation and design data into preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance plans for all plant systems prior to startup.

Configure and validate CMMS (Maximo) data and structure, including asset hierarchies, equipment records, Bills of Material (BOMs), and preventive maintenance templates to ensure full system readiness at turnover.

Establish initial spare parts and inventory strategy by defining critical spares, setting min/max levels, and coordinating with Warehouse and Procurement to ensure material readiness for commissioning and early operations.

Support commissioning and turnover activities by participating in system walkdowns, punch list resolution, and documentation verification to ensure all assets, procedures, and maintenance plans are complete and ready for commercial operation.

Your scope of responsibility as Maintenance Planner / Scheduler will include the following primary functions:

Facilitate integrated planning meetings with plant leadership and stakeholders to prioritize work scope and align maintenance activities with operational and dispatch requirements.

Develop and maintain integrated maintenance schedules for aero-derivative turbines, reciprocating engines, BESS, and balance-of-plant systems based on OEM guidance, run hours, start counts, and duty cycles.

Plan and execute outage and maintenance campaigns, including turbine inspections, engine overhauls, and BESS work, ensuring detailed scheduling, resource allocation, and milestone tracking.

Align maintenance execution with grid conditions and dispatch forecasts to optimize unit availability, reliability, and revenue performance.

Administer and continuously improve preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance programs to maximize asset lifecycle performance.

Develop maintenance strategies driven by cycling and operational profiles, adjusting intervals based on start counts, load-following behavior, and real-time equipment usage.

Optimize maintenance across a multi-unit fleet, balancing outage schedules with required generation capacity and system availability.

Manage and prioritize the maintenance backlog, ensuring all work orders are fully planned, properly classified, and ready for efficient execution.

Lead reliability improvement efforts through application of RCM principles, failure analysis, and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) implementation.

Direct forced outage response planning, establishing contingency strategies to enable rapid restoration of critical generating assets and grid-support systems.

Coordinate planning for electrical and control systems, including high-voltage equipment, inverters, and EMS/SCADA systems, ensuring safe and reliable operation.

Own CMMS (Maximo) work management processes, including work order lifecycle, asset hierarchy integrity, and maintenance data governance.

Leverage maintenance data and KPIs to drive performance improvements, including schedule compliance, reliability metrics, and outage optimization.

Partner with Warehouse and Engineering to ensure material readiness, including demand forecasting, work package kitting, and critical spares strategy for long-lead and high-impact components.

Support capital projects, commissioning, and lifecycle programs, including integration of new assets, BESS augmentation planning, contractor coordination, and budget alignment.

Perform other duties as assigned to support safe, reliable, and compliant plant operations.
