Serving Adults with Disabilities

Advancing Opportunities, an affiliate of APIS, Inc., is currently hiring a Full-Time Behavior Technician / RBT to support adults with developmental and co-occurring mental health disabilities in residential group home settings.

This position is part of our clinical team and works under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to deliver high-quality, individualized behavioral support services.Perks & Benefits

Hybrid work model (remote documentation with in-person client visits)Work Schedule & Service Area

Travel required approximately 70% of the time (may vary based on client needs)

Areas supported include Parsippany, NJ, and surrounding regionsPosition Summary

The Behavior Technician provides one-on-one therapeutic services, assists with assessments, collects and records data, and supports the implementation of behavior intervention plans. A long-term, professional commitment to working with clients and families is expected.Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Implement behavior intervention plans under the supervision of a BCBA

Provide direct 1:1 therapy to adults with developmental and mental health disabilities

Collect, record, and maintain accurate behavioral data daily

Assist with identifying and addressing presenting behavioral concerns

Support skill acquisition, maintenance, and mastery programs

Implement teaching strategies and behavior modification techniques outlined in treatment plans

Assist with the development of program materials and assessments

Complete required clinical and billing documentation accurately and on time

Participate in staff meetings, training, and supervision

Collaborate with clinical and residential team members to maintain a positive therapeutic environment

Follow all safety procedures and maintain confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulationsMinimum Qualifications

Candidates must meet one of the following criteria:

High School Diploma and current Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification (BACB)

OR

Direct Support Professional (DSP) with NADD DSP Certification

OR

Bachelor’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Special Education, Social Work, Public Health, or a related field plus one year of behavioral support experienceAdditional Requirements

Experience working with adults with developmental disabilities, autism, and/or special needs

Strong understanding of confidentiality and HIPAA requirements

Adherence to BACB Ethical Guidelines

Current CPR certification (or willingness to obtain and maintain recertification every two years)

Ability to build and maintain collaborative professional relationships with clients, families, and colleagues

Strong professionalism, reliability, and communication skills
