Description
We are seeking an experienced Pipefitter responsible for installing, fabricating, and leading the installation of process piping systems, including compressed air, gas, and clean water lines, in commercial and industrial environments. This role requires hands-on pipefitting and plumbing experience, including installation practices consistent with plumbing codes and standards. This role is able to take on tasks with minimal supervision and ensures all work meets safety, quality, and performance standards.
Primary Responsibilities:
Lead daily job tasks and coordinate assigned crew members
Interpret blueprints, specifications, and isometric drawings for accurate system layout
Install and connect compressed air systems, gas piping, and clean water lines in accordance with applicable plumbing codes
Measure, cut, thread, groove, and prepare piping materials independently
Install carbon steel, copper (soft soldered and brazed), PVC, and related piping systems
Perform soft soldering and brazing of copper piping to industry standards
Install valves, regulators, drains, and related plumbing components
Verify system alignment, pressure integrity, and code compliance
Perform pressure testing and system commissioning
Troubleshoot field conditions and implement effective solutions
Maintain strict adherence to OSHA and company safety standards
Communicate effectively with foremen, project managers, inspectors, and other trades
Maintain clean and organized job sites
Requirements
Minimum 2+ years of pipefitting and plumbing experience required
Experience installing gas lines, clean water piping, and related plumbing components
Working knowledge of plumbing codes, fittings, valves, and system components
Proficiency in soft soldering and brazing copper piping
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings
Strong understanding of job site safety practices
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work at heights or in confined spaces
Reliable transportation and clean driving record for travel to multiple job sites
Must own standard industry hand tools
Strong communication and leadership skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with process piping, compressed air systems, or HVAC piping
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
Experience leading small crews or acting as a crew lead
Working Conditions
Work performed indoors and outdoors in active construction environments
Exposure to dust, noise, temperature extremes, and industrial conditions
Typical schedule Monday-Thursday, with overtime or weekend work as needed
Travel throughout Upstate South Carolina and occasional neighboring states
