About the Client

Our client is a pharmaceutical manufacturing company operating in a regulated, cGMP-compliant environment, focused on quality, safety, and operational efficiency. The organization supports high-volume production and packaging operations, maintaining strict standards across all manufacturing processes.Role Overview:

The Packaging Mechanic is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of packaging equipment within a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. This is a hands-on role focused on ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and supporting efficient production operations.

Under limited supervision, this position performs preventive maintenance, equipment troubleshooting, and changeovers while ensuring compliance with cGMP, safety, and environmental standards. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, experience working with packaging machinery, and thrives in a fast-paced production environment.

This role requires flexibility to work across all shifts (1st, 2nd, and 3rd) and to work overtime, extended hours, or weekends as needed to support production demands.Job Requirements:

High school diploma or GED required.

3–5 years of experience in the repair and maintenance of packaging equipment or industrial machinery, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues.

Knowledge of lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and workplace safety practices.

Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, gauges, tables, and equipment documentation.

Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Preferred Qualifications:

Technical school certification or related training.

Experience with mechanical and electrical systems in a packaging or manufacturing environment.

Familiarity with machine shop equipment and tools.Key Responsibilities:

Perform Preventive Maintenance: Conduct routine and preventive maintenance on packaging equipment to minimize downtime.

Support Equipment Changeovers: Assist with line changeovers and equipment adjustments to support production needs.

Troubleshoot & Repair Equipment: Diagnose and repair mechanical issues affecting packaging operations.

Ensure cGMP Compliance: Perform all work in accordance with cGMP standards, safety practices, and environmental regulations.

Maintain Equipment Performance: Notify supervisors of breakdowns lasting more than 20 minutes and support timely resolution.

Promote Safety Standards: Identify and report health and safety hazards and support corrective actions.

Maintain Work Standards: Demonstrate commitment to quality workmanship, accountability, and job ownership.

Support Production Operations: Collaborate with supervisors and team members to ensure efficient production flow.

Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
