Job Title: Quality Inspection TechnicianJob Description
We are seeking a Quality Inspection Technician to join a high-precision aerospace machine shop. This role is crucial in supporting the inspection of custom, high-value aerospace components to ensure they meet strict quality and dimensional requirements. Many parts are either one-off or produced in low volumes, varying in size from small to large, and may require an entire shift to inspect thoroughly.Responsibilities
Perform detailed inspections on custom aerospace machined parts.
Use precision inspection equipment including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, optical comparators, and other precision measurement tools and gauges.
Inspect parts to tight tolerances and aerospace quality standards.
Document inspection results clearly and accurately.
Communicate findings with Quality, Machining, and Engineering teams.
Maintain focus and accuracy during long, detailed inspections.
Support continuous improvement and quality compliance initiatives.Essential Skills
3+ years of quality inspection experience in a machine shop or manufacturing environment.
Strong experience inspecting machined metal parts.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong communication skills and ability to document findings clearly.
Comfortable inspecting high-dollar, custom parts where quality is critical.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Mechanical aptitude.
Proficiency with CMM, blueprint reading, GD&T, and visual inspection.

The role is based in a machine shop environment focused on aerospace components. You will work with advanced inspection equipment and tools. The position requires maintaining accuracy and focus during detailed inspections, and you will collaborate closely with various teams, including Quality, Machining, and Engineering.Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Decatur, AL.Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.
