Salary: 20.00

The first portion of the float/office closer shift will be answering radio calls, covering breaks for any rooms needed, doing any float cleaning duties, and covering in classrooms with call outs if necessary. For the evening portion, the Office Closer is responsible for maintaining the safety of the building after the Director has left for the day. They are responsible for all office communication to parents, children, and staff during the closing time frame. The Office Closer will be responsible for doing a building check, confirming all cleaning tasks for the evening were completed, locking up the facility and ensuring that the center is ready to reopen the next morning.

Hours: 9am - 6pm

Responsibilities:

Know and Abide by all OCFS Regulations

Maintain the highest level of confidentiality

Not participating in center gossip and being able to stop it if heard

Not saying anything negative regarding staff, parents, or children

Not sharing any information regarding staff, parents, or children outside of work

Communicating well with parents, children, and staff

Make schedule adjustments if needed based on call outs, sending staff early, etc.

Following all Office Closing Duties and conducting nightly safety checks of the entire center grounds.

Being able to take parent payments: cash, check, credit cards

Float Coverage for a large portion of the day in every classroom, and comfortable working in every classroom

Being comfortable and confident to respectfully correct employees when something is not done correctly (i.e. cleaning tasks, classroom closing duties, proper zoning in rooms, cell phone usage, etc.)

Being Comfortable taking Parent Payments

Having the knowledge of when and how to combine classrooms.

Having the knowledge to fill out incident reports, but also correct others if they are wrong.

Desired Qualities:

Knowledge of Developmentally Appropriate Practices

Experience and passion for Early Childhood Education

Knowledge and Comfortability with every age group; newborn-school age

Honest, Reliable, Trustworthy and a high level of integrity

Ability to lift at least 25lbs

Ability to deescalate and problem solve difficult behaviors

Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Publisher

Demonstrates leadership and ability to supervise other staff and communicate well with peers

Demonstrates initiative, desire to grow, and ownership of ones work

Fast learner, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
