PRIMARY ROLE
The Logistics Coordinator's primary responsibilities are to develop and implement systems that will ensure the safe, efficient, and most cost-effective transport of company assets between warehouse locations and to project sites. This will include both utilizing internal transportation resources as well as contracted logistics partners. The Logistics Coordinator must be able to work from one of our warehouse locations: Chicago, Cincinnati, or Columbus.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan, organize, direct and coordinate logistics operations across multiple locations to ensure timely and safe deliveries
Continually develop internal systems to increase logistics efficiency and value
Oversee and evaluate third-party logistics providers to ensure contracted services meet expectations
Plan and schedule logistics for equipment deliveries including local and OTR delivery and pick-up
Develop and direct programs to train new and existing employees on logistics processes
Plan long and short-term driver needs based on sales forecasts and input from management
Coordinate trucking logistics with Account Executives, Operations Managers, and Project Managers to ensure objectives are met and on budget
Organize, schedule, and direct team to ensure all delivery and pickup timelines are achieved
Consistently track and input all trucking costs to fulfillment orders in Lasso and any other systems.
Understand DOT trucking regulations and ensure that all DOT procedures are followed
Maintain fleet registrations and tax requirements for all company vehicles
Review and maintain all DOT paperwork and required employee records
QUALIFICATIONS
The Logistics Coordinator shall be detail oriented, organized, and be able to effectively communicate with a broad range of departments, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and work efficiently with people in a team environment. At least two-years of education from an accredited college or university is preferred. Experience in a communications, fleet, or business management is preferred. Associate must have: Ability to solve practical problems, carry out responsibilities with little or no supervision, ability to finish projects, ability to prioritize and organize workload for effective implementation, ability to clearly and concisely present information in one-on-one and small group situations, ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization and across diverse cultures and the ability to adapt as the external environment and organization evolves.
Computer skills needed: experience in Macintosh and PC operating systems necessary. Must have general working knowledge of the following programs: MS Excel, MS Word, MS Power Point. Must have general understanding of database applications and the ability to learn new software as needed.
