Website Creative and Content Coordinator (aHEO) POSITION DETAILS The Website Creative and Content Developer supports the Senior Website Creative and Content Developer in creating, maintaining, and optimizing web content for the CCNY website.
This role focuses on writing for the web, web and digital communication content updates, multimedia asset management, troubleshooting web issues, and ensuring alignment with branding, accessibility, and marketing goals.
The position reports directly to the Senior Website Creative and Content Developer.
The web team is overseen by the Associate Executive Director of Marketing & Communications, who manages the overall web strategy and makes final decisions within the Office of Institutional Advancement, Communications, and External Relations.
Important to note: This is not a social media content or social media creative role.
(Campus-specific Information and duties) • Collaborate with the Senior Website Creative and Content Developer to create and maintain web content that is accurate, engaging, and aligned with CCNY branding and marketing goals.
• Create, edit, and publish web content, including text, images, and multimedia assets, ensuring accuracy, engagement, and alignment with CCNY branding and marketing goals.
• Troubleshoot and resolve basic web issues, including broken links, formatting problems, or display inconsistencies, escalating complex issues to the Senior Website Creative and Content Developer as needed.
• Support website design updates, page layout adjustments, and user experience improvements under the guidance of the Senior Website Creative and Content Developer.
• Collaborate with the Web Development Team on technical planning and implementation, providing input on content updates, design consistency, and usability considerations.
• Assist in ensuring all web content meets accessibility standards (ADA compliance) and best practices.
• Maintain and update documentation, including content standards and style guides.
• Monitor web pages for outdated information or inconsistencies and coordinate corrections with the Senior Website Creative and Content Developer.
• Collaborate with other departments and vendors on content or design projects as directed by the Senior Website Creative and Content Developer.
• Assist in content migration, website updates, and other digital communications projects.
• Additional related duties as assigned by the Senior Website Creative and Content Developer.
QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree required Preferred Qualifications: • 3-5 years of professional experience in web creative content development, digital creative development for mass communications, or a related field • 3-5 years of proficiency in using a content management system (i.e.
writing for the web) preferably Drupal • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Digital Media, Web Design, Graphic Design, or a related field.
• Strong writing and editing skills, with experience writing for the web.
• Working knowledge of basic HTML and CSS to support content formatting and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency with graphic and design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Canva, Figma, or similar.
• Understanding of web accessibility standards (ADA compliance). • Ability to troubleshoot basic web issues and coordinate with the Senior Website Creative and Content Developer on complex problems.
• Basic understanding of web design principles, UX/UI, and responsive design.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with the Senior Website Creative and Content Developer, Web Development Team, and other departments.
• Ability to work under pressure or in a fast-paced environment (cyclical) • Enthusiasm for digital communications, web content, and accessibility best practices CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW Supports the creation and maintenance of multimedia communications.
- Collaborates with internal and external personnel to develop multimedia concepts to communicate key messages - Creates content utilizing one or more types of media (e.g., photography, video, audio, and web technologies) - Coordinates pre-production, production and post-production activities - Designs, edits, and uploads content to internal and external sites and programs - Maintains archives, materials, and project documentation - Performs related duties as assigned.
CUNY TITLE Assistant to HEO FLSA Non-exempt COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS Salary Range: $74,754 - $79,784.
Salary commensurate with education and experience.
CUNY is in the process of implementing salary schedule increases.
Once implemented, salaries of eligible employees will be adjusted by 3.5% effective 9/1/26, in accordance with the terms of the PSC-CUNY collective bargaining agreement.
