Job Description

Job Overview: Work alongside a small team of machinists who perform and support all machining efforts of a wide variety of metals processed by the material testing laboratory. Responsibilities include:

Independently set up and operate CNC and manual machinery

Read and interpret work orders, work instructions, and technical drawings

Change cutting tools and adjust machine feeds and speeds

Perform daily preventative maintenance

Maintain a safe and clean work area

Skills and Qualifications: This position requires a High School degree or equivalent. At least 3 years of experience in general machining is preferred. Important skills and qualifications include:

Knowledge and experience with machining properties of different metals

Ability to read and modify G and M code; Mazatrol experience preferred

Experience working with manual cutting, milling, turning, and grinding machines

Experience with common metalworking tools (drill press, band saw, belt sander, etc.)

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to be flexible and focused in a dynamic environment

Ability to follow directions, multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines

Friendly outgoing team player who understands the importance of customer service

Working Conditions and Requirements: Work will be performed in a small air conditioned machine shop, housed within a laboratory environment. Standard 40 hour work week with occasional mandatory overtime that may include weekend hours. Standard work day is from 8:00AM - 4:00PM, start time can be flexible. Physical requirements include a tolerance of standing for extended periods and an ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 75 pounds.Company Description
