Reports To: Sanitation Supervisor

FLSA Status: Hourly

ROLE

SUMMARY

Maintain adherence to SSOPs, ensuring a thorough daily cleansing of the production area in a timely fashion. Ensure associate labor is used efficiently to complete weekly and monthly detailed cleanings, directing associates throughout the assigned shift by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

Ensure that MSS (Master Sanitation Schedule) is followed on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.

Coordinate with Sanitation Supervisor for instructions; complete using allocated labor.

Ensure associates comply with stated company policies and practices.

Coordinate with the Production and Quality Assurance departments in relation to food safety and sanitation; complete any Sanitation, MSS and SSOP and other records.

Ensure adherence to SSOP Plan, suggest improvements or adaptations of the same.

Ensure pre-operation sanitation inspection runs smoothly, ensuring the facility is ready for production in a timely manner; verify sanitation is effective by reviewing swab samples for micro-testing.

Monitor chemicals, mixes and dilution tips, ensuring correct dilution, and fix when variances occur.

Monitor associate labor hours, ensure efficiency in task completion.

Maintain sanitation equipment in good condition, complete purchase requisitions when necessary.

Initiate new procedures as determined by facility food-safety requirements.

Conduct monthly usage audits of chemical cleaning agents, and monitor par inventory levels performing inventory counts.

Performs all duties of the Sanitation staff including:

Applying diluted chlorinated foaming chemicals.

Moving floor mats and trash can.

Foaming of conveyors, machinery, walls, floors, drains & utensils.

Rinsing said areas and applying a sanitizing agent using an overhead dispensing system.

Drying the floor using floor squeegees.

Recognizing the color-coordinated system by which cleaning utensil used within the production area are distinguished from those used outside.

Other duties as assigned.

Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or GED and six months of related experience and/or training are required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS

Chemical safety training / Chemical handling a plus.

Completion of chemical safety training and completion of Company designated training courses.

Basic HACCP knowledge a plus.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

Moderate mechanical skills a plus

Able to work with little supervision.

Able to follow all safety guidelines.

Good interpersonal skills and able to interact positively and work in a team environment.
