Job Description
The Machine Operator follows the quality production processes and works together as a team constructing specialized tooling for foundries, aerospace, and various other industries. This includes, but not limited to; permanent molds, wood/foam/metal patterns, composite and metal laminating mandrels, and fixtures.
Machine Operator s primary area of focus is setting up and operating CNC machines and equipment. On any given day, the operator may prepare raw materials, prepare a test run, setup and remove finished product and inspect product.
To be Successful in this role, operators must have the following traits:

· The ability to perform mathematical calculations
· Basic understanding of computer programming and CAD/CAM software
· Strong problem-solving and multi-tasking skills

RESPONSIBILITIES
· Setup and operate CNC mills and routers
· Setup tooling
· Supervise machines as they run and make adjustments as needed
· Prepare various stock materials, such as wood, metal, plastic and foam for machining
· Read drawings, compute dimension and land sequences of operations
· Inspect finished parts to drawing specifications using templates and measuring instruments
· Machine maintenance and cleanouts
· Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
· Maintaining safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
· Work with CNC Programmer to produce quality parts on time.
Shop duties
· General pattern shop work; material storage and tooling preparation.
· Receive materials; verify quantities equal packing list.
· Maintain an orderly and clean work area.
· Able to work in a patternmaking environment involving dust, noise and fumes.
· Other duties as assigned.
· Capable to lift up to 75 lbs.
