Job Description

We are seeking two skilled plumbers for a new elementary school build project in New Albany, Columbus. We need one journeyman plumber who can work independently and one intermediate-level plumber with strong mechanical and commercial plumbing knowledge, as well as the ability to read blueprints.

Responsibilities

Install vent, storm, sanitary, gas, and water piping systems and extend piping to connect fixtures and plumbing to those systems.

Assemble pipe sections, tubing, and fittings using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, plastic solvents, caulking or soldering, brazing, and welding equipment.

Fill pipes or plumbing fixtures with water or air and observe pressure gauges to detect and locate leaks.

Review blueprints and building codes and specifications.

Locate and mark the position of pipe installations, connections, passage holes, and fixtures in structures using measuring instruments such as rules and levels.

Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipe to required angles, using hand and power tools or machines such as pipe cutters, pipe-threading machines, and pipe-bending machines.

Install pipe assemblies, fittings, valves, appliances such as dishwashers and water heaters and fixtures such as sinks and toilets using hand and power tools.

Cut opening structures to accommodate pipes and pipe fittings using hand and power tools.

Hang steel supports from ceiling joists to hold pipes in place.Essential Skills

Journeyman card for independent work.

Mechanical knowledge for intermediate-level plumber.

Ability to read blueprints.

Commercial plumbing experience.

OSHA 10 certification.Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience in underground and rough-ins.

Proficiency with plumbing hand tools such as tape measures, pipe wrenches, hammers, and screwdrivers.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

Work hours are Monday to Friday from 6/7am to 2:30/3:30pm at a newly constructed elementary school in New Albany. The environment is dynamic and requires attention to detail, with all necessary powered tools provided.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New Albany, OH.Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
