About the Position

We are seeking an experienced and reliable Maintenance Technician to join our team in Columbus, OH. This role is responsible for performing routine and preventive maintenance to ensure the safety, functionality, and overall appearance of our apartment community. The ideal candidate will be well-rounded, hands-on, and able to handle a variety of maintenance tasks efficiently.

Position Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Maintenance Requests:

Receive, prioritize, and complete work orders for apartment units, common areas, and building exteriors. Tasks include (but are not limited to) painting, drywall repair, plumbing, electrical work, minor appliance repair, and general upkeep.

Unit Turnovers:

Work closely with the Community Manager to prepare vacant units for new residents, ensuring timely and high-quality make-readies.

Preventive Maintenance:

Perform routine inspections and implement preventive maintenance programs to maintain equipment, systems, and property infrastructure.

Systems Oversight:

Monitor and maintain critical building systems such as fire safety, water systems, and HVAC to ensure proper operation and compliance with safety standards.

Groundskeeping:

Maintain the exterior appearance of the property, including landscaping, trash removal, and general curb appeal.

Janitorial Duties:

Assist with cleaning and maintaining common areas to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for residents.

Supplies and Inventory:

Manage maintenance supplies and equipment, ensuring proper inventory levels and cost-effective purchasing.

Qualifications

Previous apartment maintenance experience required

Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general maintenance

Ability to troubleshoot and complete repairs independently

Strong attention to detail and time management skills

Excellent communication and customer service skills

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks

High level of professionalism, integrity, and reliability

Preferred (but not required):

EPA Certification

CPO Certification
