Department: Nursing – Miracles in Progress Program

Employment Type: Part Time (12 hours per week)

Schedule: 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, every Sunday

Work Setting: Fully Onsite

Overview

The Behavioral Wellness Center at Girard is seeking a dependable and professional Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our behavioral health nursing team within the Miracles in Progress program. This position follows a consistent overnight schedule of 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM every Sunday.

The Miracles in Progress program provides long term recovery services for chronically homeless men with substance use disorders and co occurring mental health conditions. The program is designed to support stability, recovery, and reintegration into the community through structured care and ongoing clinical support.

This role is ideal for nurses who are experienced or interested in behavioral health, addiction treatment, and working within a multidisciplinary care team. This position offers a consistent schedule and the opportunity to make a direct impact in a recovery focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care in a behavioral health and substance use treatment setting

• Administer medications and monitor for effectiveness and adverse reactions

• Document patient care accurately in the Electronic Health Record

• Participate in crisis intervention and utilize de escalation techniques

• Support and collaborate with behavioral health staff during assigned shifts

• Educate patients on treatment plans, medications, and recovery goals

• Collaborate with RNs, physicians, and behavioral health professionals

• Maintain compliance with program policies, safety standards, and procedures

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program required

• Active LPN license in Pennsylvania required

• At least 1 year of LPN experience preferred

• Behavioral health, psychiatric, or substance use experience strongly preferred

• CPR certification required

• CPI certification preferred

Work Environment

This is a fully onsite position within a behavioral health and residential treatment setting. The role requires the ability to remain calm and responsive in high pressure situations, including behavioral health emergencies and crisis intervention scenarios.
