Description
The Lead Production Operator has responsibility for the safety, quality of product, on-time delivery, and to meet or exceed operation efficiencies of the pack and warehouse departments during their assigned shifts. The focus of this position is to maximize productivity by taking ownership of the production process, which includes taking responsibility for the safety of personnel, the quality of the finished product, upkeep of equipment, and the elimination of waste of plant and company resources. They report directly to the Production Manager. This position will be on the night shift, 7pm - 7am, and will work every other weekend. The schedule will rotate days 36 hours one week and 48 hours the next. There will be a shift differential of .75/ hour from 7pm -11pm and 1.50/ hour from 11pm - 7am.
Lead Production Operator Responsibilities:
Manage your team and hold them accountable for plant/department goals including those that may impact productivity such as OEE’s, yield, capacity, and area attainment metrics.
Reduce unscheduled and unidentified non-productive time by analyzing data and acting in an appropriate manner.
Monitor team members and plant processes to maximize productivity, attain, and surpass plant goals in overtime, labor costs, non-productive time, etc.
Act as an example in the facility by following and enforcing all safety practices.
Communicate safety goals and ideas to your team members daily.
Address any safety issues or concerns brought to your attention, if you are unable to bring closure to the issue, notify the Production Manager.
Focus on the quality of all products and ensure that all quality analysis procedures are carried out and on schedule.
Ensure that your area is maintained in a clean and orderly state and embrace the “clean as you go” concept.
Ensure all team members follow Food Safety and GMP guidelines.
Set a positive example for your team.
Recognize, manage, and resolve all team member issues whenever possible, and know when to escalate to a higher level for resolution.
Communicate the status and requirements of your area to your peers, team, support functions, and the Production Manager.
Monitor production downtime and inform Production Manager if the pack line is down for 30 minutes or longer.

Qualifications
1-2 years of experience in a production, manufacturing, or industrial environment.
1+ years of experience as a lead in a production, manufacturing, or industrial environment preferred.
Forklift operating skills.
Training is provided on the job.
Safety training is required and provided by the company in group settings, as well as individual computer-based training.
Possess excellent interpersonal skills, multitask, and able to read and write in English.
Ability to work unsupervised.
Available to work flexible hours, evenings, weekends, and shift work may be required.
Working Conditions:
This position requires physical efforts such as straining, pulling, lifting, working, and standing and walking on concrete floor.
Exposure to elements such as noise, minable dust, cold and hot temperatures.
Extreme climate or climate variation.
Heat up to 100 degrees and a low of 40 degrees.
Changes of >30 degrees within a shift.
Exposure to manufacturing equipment hazards, especially forklifts.
Climbing ladders.
