People's Knowledge Grows The ABHS AmeriCorps Program engages members in service roles that strengthen community wellness, cultural continuity, environmental stewardship, and youth development across the White Mountain Apache Tribe.
Members support culturally grounded, evidence-informed activities aligned with AmeriCorps priority areas.
TEK-focused members deliver workshops, gardening sessions, and stewardship activities that revitalize traditional foodways, promote sustainable practices, and reconnect youth and families with Apache ecological knowledge.

Member Duties : Deliver environmental education workshops, gardening sessions, and TEK-based trainings in collaboration with Apache elders and cultural advisors.
Lead hands-on activities such as traditional food growing, seed saving, land stewardship projects in community gardens and cultural sites.
Provide environmental stewardship learning experiences to 50 unique community members.
Collect surveys from community members.
Prepare materials, set up learning activities, maintain garden or project sites as assigned.
Complete attendance logs, service activity reports, performance measure documentation.
Follow safety protocols, uphold cultural guidance from Elders, represent the program with professionalism and cultural respect.
