60 serves nearly 15,500 students in preschool through grade 12 and is located halfway between Chicago, Illinois and Milwaukee, Wisconsin on the shores of Lake Michigan.

The District has 1 early learning center, 15 elementary schools, five middle schools and a high school program divided between two 9th - 12th grade campuses.

The District encompasses portions of Waukegan, Beach Park and Park City.

Organizational: Directly responsible to the Director of Operations and/or his designee.

General Duties: To prepare, repair, and paint areas designated for painting or refinishing by the Director of Operations or his designee.

To direct unskilled workers and to do other tasks as assigned by the Director of Operations or his designee.

The following specific duties are typical but not necessarily all of the duties involved in this position.

Employees currently employed in these positions, will when necessary, be provided training to enable them to do work assigned for which they feel they are not qualified.

Current employees and new employees will be expected to be able to perform 80% of the specific duties listed without further training.

Specific Duties: * Finish or refinish interior and exterior surfaces such as ceilings, halls, and woodwork with paint, stain, varnish, or similar materials.

* Hang wallpaper and wall coverings.

* Use paintbrushes, rollers, and spray gun for application.

* Properly maintain and clean painting tools.

* Be able to mix paint.

* tain, paint, or varnish all types of woodwork and furniture, as needed.

* Prepare interior and exterior surfaces for staining, painting or finishing.

* Direct unskilled workers.

* Keep records and requisitions supplies.

* Climb and adjust to various height requirements.

* Physical strength and endurance sufficient to perform heavy manual work.

* Drive trucks, delivery vehicles, snow plowing equipment and similar equipment.

* Drywall tapping and minor plaster patching.

* To perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Operations and/or his designee.

Qualifications: * Must be in good health and able to perform all jobs assigned.

* Must have valid drivers license.

* Must be able to climb and adjust to heights.

* Must have five (5) years of practical experience, and training as a painter or in work related fields.

* Have knowledge of basic color schemes.

Individual employed cannot be colorblind.

* Be able to use paint brushes of all sizes and types, also wall sizing, straight edge, cutters, rulers, steam machines for removing wall coverings, spackle and plaster, trowels, rollers and other related equipment.

* Must know proper method of preparing interior and exterior surfaces for finishing.

* Be able to understand written and oral instructions.

* Must be able to work harmoniously with others.

* Other abilities and/or variations from those listed, as the administration feels appropriate.
