Description:

The future of defense will be decided by those who field intelligent machines at scale. At Scout AI, we're developing Fury, the first robotic foundation model for defense, to give U.S. forces overwhelming, adaptable, and autonomous power across every domain. Fury enables human operators to command fleets of robots through natural language, and empowers those machines to sense, decide, and act together as one. This mission will ask everything of us: urgency, precision, and relentless work.

The RoleWe're looking for a Full-Stack Software Generalist who enjoys working across the entire product surface: backend systems, frontend experiences, infrastructure, and AI-powered features. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in early-stage environments and likes shipping end-to-end features rather than owning just one narrow area. You'll work closely with product, design, and research to build reliable, scalable, and user-focused software. Your work will run on robots in complex, adversarial environments. We're a startup. You'll be moving fast, context-switching daily, and helping define the culture and process as we go. This is a rare opportunity to come in early and architect the future of defense.

Responsibilities

Build and ship full-stack features from concept to production

Design and implement scalable backend services and APIs

Develop intuitive, high-performance frontend applications

Integrate AI/ML capabilities into real user workflows

Improve system architecture, reliability, and developer experience

Work directly with users and stakeholders to refine product direction

Contribute to infrastructure, deployment pipelines, and monitoring

Help shape engineering culture, processes, and technical standards Qualifications

2-5 years of full-stack engineering experience (startup or high-ownership environment preferred)

Proficiency with modern frontend frameworks (React, Next.js, or similar)

Experience building backend systems (Node.js, Python, Go, or similar)

Solid understanding of databases, APIs, and distributed systems

Experience shipping production software end-to-end

Comfortable working across unfamiliar parts of the stack

Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export controlled information or facilities Why Join Scout

Work on the world's most important frontier, ensuring U.S. and allied dominance in the age of intelligent machines
