Monday - Friday 6:00am - 2:30pm
In this position, an individual will perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that equipment and machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently. Repair work will also be performed as needed by selecting the appropriate tools/equipment while under the guidance of the Maintenance Manager and/or President.
REQUIREMENTS
Education/Training:
High School Diploma or GED
Education and / or experience in the maintenance technician field is helpful.
Other requirements:
Individual must pass a pre-employment drug test.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following and other duties as assigned.
Regular, reliable attendance and punctuality.
Ability to plan daily tasks and balance work flow to ensure minimal interruptions to production.
Ability to problem solve, reason and learn how equipment functions, systems work and repair/install as needed.
Ability to demonstrate self-reliance and resourcefulness.
Demonstrates a strong ability to identify, analyze and solve problems to achieve desired outcomes.
Ability to respond quickly to changing demands/situations.
Ability to read and comprehend drawings, blueprints, and maintenance manuals.
Ability to repair or replace defective equipment using the appropriate tools.
Perform routine inspections to include but not limited to motors, belts, fluids, filters following checklists.
Possess knowledge and experience with hydraulic systems.
Possess knowledge and experience with diesel equipment and engines.
Provide assistance with ordering of supplies and parts.
Maintain repair and maintenance logs on all company owned equipment and vehicles.
Ability to operate cutting torches or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
Ability to operate yard vehicles to include ATV, pay loader, bobcat, forklift and scissor lift.
Ability to perform/oversee routine maintenance on the heating system, plumbing and electrical systems and perform repairs as needed.
Ability to oversee maintenance of grounds. Includes but not limited to weed spraying, mowing/trimming, gravel/rock moving, dirt work, landscaping, track and switch maintenance.
Ability to use discretion for snow and ice removal; taking into consideration the timing of snowfall, ice accumulation in relation to start of business operations.
Ability to clean switches per BNSF set procedures.
Ability to complete necessary paperwork legibly and according to specifications.
Ability to communicate effectively with vendors, customers, co-workers. Providing assistance as needed.
Ability to climb and work at heights of 14 feet or more to complete work.
Ability to work in confined spaces that may require but not limited to crawling, bending, twisting, reaching, lifting/lowering, pushing/pulling.
Ability to follow directions whether written or oral.
Regular, reliable attendance and punctuality.

Physical:
Body Positions: Sitting, standing, stooping, kneeling, lying on back or front, working in confined spaces and working at heights of 14 feet or more.
Body Movements: Walking, crawling, turning of head and body, bending, twisting, reaching, lifting/lowering, pushing/pulling.
Torso, arms and fingers. Lifting up to 75 pounds occasionally, with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
Assisted lifting (human or mechanical) 75 pounds to 100 pounds, climbing, gripping/grasping, pulling, pushing, reaching.
Reporting Relationships:
Reports to assigned Supervisor.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This job has no supervisory responsibilities. Individual may be asked to assist in the training of new employees.
Training:
Instructions and feedback on work performance will be given by assigned Supervisor.
Working Conditions:
Work is performed inside buildings as well as outside. Inside temperatures will vary throughout the seasons.
Each employee is required to provide their own safety toed boots. Boots must be above the ankle and composed of leather, with no mesh.
The company will provide all the necessary tools and equipment to successfully complete the work.
