Chemical Regulatory specialist

Job Title: Chemical Regulatory Specialist Employment Type: Temporary (Up to 6 Months) Start Date: ASAP Work Schedule: To be discussed (based on hourly rate) Pay Rate: $30.00 – $35.00 per hour (based on experience) Location: Onsite Background Requirements: Criminal Background Check, Drug Screen, and OIG/GSA/OFAC Exclusion Screenings are mandatory for this role.

Key Responsibilities:Support chemical safety programs including job hazard assessments and safe handling procedures for laboratory chemicals and materials.Ensure proper labeling, storage, and segregation of chemical inventories in line with regulatory and internal requirements.Assist in preparation and maintenance of regulatory documentation such as SDS files, hazardous waste manifests, compliance records, SOPs, and safety audits.Monitor hazardous waste accumulation, disposal processes, and environmental reporting requirements.Track chemical usage, emissions, and waste generation metrics to support regulatory and sustainability goals.Collaborate closely with chemists, engineers, and R&D leadership to maintain safe and compliant laboratory operations.

Basic Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related discipline.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced R&D environment.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Commitment to maintaining a safe and clean workplace.

Preferred Qualifications:Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, RCRA, DOT, and related regulatory frameworks.Experience with chemical inventory management, SDS systems, hazardous waste handling, and EHS documentation tools.
