Duties

Help

Provide strategic direction for the enterprise logistics program

Serve as a subject matter expert across ten functional areas, providing strategic direction for the enterprise logistics program.

Lead acquisition and technology initiatives.

Direct management of property and the supply chain.

Responsible for the hands-on management of a diverse operational portfolio.

Key representative and strategic liaison for the command

Manage the planning and direction of major logistics and sustainment projects that support the command's future strategic partnerships, engagement, and acquisition efforts, preparing the organization for future conflicts.

Provide critical staff administration and resource management. Requirements

Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.

This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.

This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.

This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.

In accordance with AR 690-11, this position has been designated as "Emergency-Essential". Emergency-Essential designation takes precedence over any transportation agreement or military recall status.

This position has been designated "Mission Essential".

Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 11.

A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.

This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 15% of the time.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service which includes 1) Providing solutions to complex and precedent setting logistics issues submitted by subordinate organizations;

2) Evaluating logistics management programs to ensure goals, milestones, and objectives are met by subordinate organizations;

3) Identifying resource requirements for a program's logistics strategy and support programs; and

4) Analyzing system and equipment performance data to resolve technical or procedural deficiencies.

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:

Planning and Evaluating Some positions allow education as a substitution, this position is based on experience only.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).

Additional information

Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.

You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.

One year trial/probationary period may be required.

Direct deposit of pay is required.

This position requires you to submit a Public Financial Disclosure Report (OGE 278) or a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter.

Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.
