Clinical Director

Position Overview

Resolve Wellness is seeking an accomplished and mission-driven Clinical Director to provide strategic leadership, clinical oversight, and regulatory excellence across our behavioral health and addiction services. This executive-level role is designed for a licensed clinician who is passionate about building high-performing teams, ensuring clinical integrity, and advancing recovery-oriented systems of care in Ohio.

The Clinical Director is responsible for overseeing daily clinical operations across Mental Health Day Treatment, Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP), Outpatient Services, PEER Center Support Services, and recovery housing environments. Serving as a key member of the leadership team, this role ensures that all clinical services align with our mission, meet OhioMHAS and CARF standards, and deliver meaningful outcomes for individuals and families we serve.Required License

Active and unrestricted LICDC, LPCC or LISW or equivalent license in the State of OhioEssential Job FunctionsClinical Leadership & Supervision

Provide visionary, ethical, and trauma-informed clinical leadership across all programs.

Supervise, mentor, and support licensed and unlicensed clinicians, fostering professional growth, accountability, and excellence in care delivery.

Cultivate a culture of collaboration, transparency, and continuous quality improvement.Quality Assurance, Compliance & Audit Readiness

Design, implement, and maintain robust clinical quality assurance and audit systems aligned with OhioMHAS (OMHAS), CARF, and ORH standards.

Oversee clinical documentation, treatment planning, and service delivery to ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and evidence-based practice requirements.

Lead the organization through OhioMHAS site visits, CARF surveys, corrective action plans, and ongoing compliance monitoring.

Establish data-driven performance measures to evaluate clinician effectiveness and program outcomes.Strategic & Collaborative Leadership

Partner closely with executive leadership to develop and implement strategic initiatives that support Resolve Wellness’ mission, vision, and long-term growth.

Collaborate across departments to improve operational efficiency, program consistency, and clinical effectiveness.

Contribute to policy development, program expansion, and system-level improvement initiatives.Direct Clinical Engagement

Maintain clinical expertise by occasionally providing direct services, including group facilitation or managing a small caseload.

Lead by example in ethical practice, documentation standards, and clinical decision-making.Performance Management & Professional Development

Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide meaningful feedback and coaching.

Identify training needs, support continuing education, and promote licensure advancement and supervisory development.

Ensure clinical staff competencies align with accreditation, licensing, and best-practice expectations.QualificationsRequired Qualifications

Active and unrestricted LPCC, LISW or LICDC or equivalent license in the State of Ohio

Proven clinical leadership or supervisory experience within a behavioral health or substance use disorder treatment setting

Strong working knowledge of OhioMHAS (OMHAS) regulations, clinical documentation standards, and compliance expectations

Demonstrated ability to oversee treatment planning, clinical documentation, and service delivery in alignment with state and accreditation standards

Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to lead multidisciplinary teamsPreferred Qualifications

Direct experience with:

CARF accreditation preparation, surveys, and ongoing compliance

Ohio Recovery Housing (ORH) standards

OhioMHAS audits, site visits, and corrective action planning

Extensive experience in substance use disorder treatment in Ohio, including outpatient, IOP, day treatment, peer services, or recovery housing

Demonstrated success in audit readiness, quality improvement initiatives, and risk management

Experience developing clinical policies, procedures, and performance improvement strategiesPhysical Requirements

Ability to operate standard office equipment including computers, phones, printers, copiers, and fax machines

Standing and walking more than 80% of the workday; sitting more than 25%

Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling of light to moderate weight (up to 30 pounds)

Occasional bending and stoopingWork Environment

Ability to maintain focus, leadership, and decision-making under time-sensitive and high-accountability conditions

Standard office hours are Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with flexibility required to meet program and audit needs

Primarily indoor clinical and administrative environment with moderate noise levels

Regular interaction with clients and staff; potential exposure to communicable diseases and/or blood-borne pathogensEEO & Compliance
