The Nurse Practitioner (NP) is responsible for providing advanced, comprehensive healthcare services to patients, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic conditions. The NP works collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care. This role emphasizes health promotion, disease prevention, patient education, and clinical excellence while ensuring compliance with applicable medical standards and regulations.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

May provide clinical guidance and mentorship to Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Medical Assistants, and other clinical staff.

May assist in training and onboarding of new clinical personnel.

May supervise clinical support staff as assigned.

May participate in performance feedback and quality improvement initiatives.

Duties Responsibilities:

Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including obtaining medical histories and conducting physical examinations.

Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses, injuries, and health conditions.

Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests such as laboratory work, imaging studies, and screenings.

Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.

Prescribe medications and therapies in accordance with state regulations and scope of practice.

Provide preventative care services, including health screenings, immunizations, and wellness exams.

Educate patients and families on disease prevention, treatment options, and healthy lifestyle choices.

Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to coordinate patient care.

Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.

Maintain accurate, timely, and complete medical records in electronic medical record (EMR) systems.

Ensure compliance with clinical guidelines, policies, and regulatory requirements.

Participate in quality assurance, performance improvement, and continuing education activities.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from an accredited program.

Current and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the state of practice.

National certification in applicable specialty areas (e.g., Family Nurse Practitioner, Adult Gerontology Nurse Practitioner, Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner, etc.).

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.

DEA license and controlled substance registration, as required.

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification may be required depending on specialty.

Prior clinical experience preferred; new graduates may be considered depending on organizational needs.

Obstetrical/women's health experience is highly preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand, walk, bend, and sit for extended periods.

Ability to perform physical examinations and clinical procedures.

Ability to lift and assist patients or move equipment, up to approximately 25 pounds.

Ability to use hands and fingers for clinical tasks requiring manual dexterity.

Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required.
