VDC Operator

As our VDC Operator, you will create electrical designs and layouts for various sizes and scopes of construction projects using software such as Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and Revizto. VDC Operators are integral to the preconstruction team, working with our virtual layout team (VLC), project managers, general foreman, and estimators to support Mid-City's virtual layout and design needs. This is an onsite, in-office position.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Develop construction drawings using Revit and AutoCAD.

Create drawings for layouts of electrical equipment, electrical systems and conduit systems.

Support project manager by fulfilling all VDC needs related to the preconstruction and construction process.

Create drawings for layouts, coordination, prefab, and construction.

Attend coordination meetings and manage the coordination process.

Review architectural, structural, and mechanical contract drawings, as well as the electrical specifications.

Utilize clash detection software to eliminate system conflicts.

Key Experience to Hit the Ground Running:

Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks

Electrical technical training

Basic knowledge of estimating techniques and cost control with the ability to interpret cost data and systems

Demonstrating attention to detail; developing and implementing logical approaches to problems

Fostering strong communication between teams to generate a quality work product

Pursues ongoing training and development to increase job-related knowledge, applying new skills and techniques learned.This position requires in-office attendance; remote work is not available.

Salary ranges from $28-38 per hour based on experience level
