Job Overview
L&H Companies is looking to fill a Purchaser role. This position reports directly to the Executive Vice President. We are seeking an organized, experienced Purchaser to join our growing team. In this position, you will research and negotiate the best price and quality for our supply needs. You will establish relationships and serve as a representative of the company when negotiating contracts and building vendor and supplier trust as well as track and monitor the delivery and confirmation of all materials and supplies.
Primary duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
On-site, full time role in Reading, PA
Research and evaluate potential vendors and suppliers
Request quotes and compare prices for maximum ROI
Estimate and establish cost parameters and budgets for purchases
Create and maintain good relationships with vendors and suppliers
Negotiate appropriate contracts for pricing and supply
Examine and review products and supplies to ensure quality (tandem with Receiving Lead)
Track incoming inventory, delivery arrival time, and note actual arrival time (Receiving Lead)
Responsible for on-site inventory counts and documentation (tandem with Receiving Lead)
Organize and update database of suppliers, delivery times, invoices, and quantity of supplies
Work with team members and supervisors to develop future purchasing plans and source potential relationships with vendors
Ensure all deliveries contain all goods requested (Receiving Lead)
Collaborate with financial team members on contracts, supplier invoice review, inventory unit of measurement and costing accuracy (tandem with Receiving Lead)
Responsible for allocating costs to appropriate sales orders ensuring correct gross margin calculation (tandem with Receiving Lead)
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in business administration, management, finance, or related field preferred but not required
Solid knowledge and understanding of purchasing processes, policy, and systems
3-5 years previous experience as a purchaser, buyer, or related position preferably in a manufacturing environment
Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel and Teams)
Experience with an ERP system is highly preferred
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to negotiate, establish, and process contracts
Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
Accurate and precise attention to detail
Able to make decisions in a fast-paced environment
