Job Title: Construction Road Crew Laborer

Overview: Suit-Kote Corporation, a leading Asphalt products manufacturer, road construction and maintenance and asphalt application engineering

company is seeking candidates for Heavy Highway Laborers.

Safety Expectations: All Suit-Kote employees are required to comply with all safety rules and to observe safe work practices and operating procedures at all times. Whenever on Suit-Kote property or job sites, or operating Suit- Kote equipment, employees are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that promotes the safety of the employee, co-workers and others.

Responsibilities/Job Duties:

· Have the ability and willingness to dig, spread and level construction materials with a shovel

· Work with others to help complete tasks in a timely manner

· Varying types of work including: shoveling, flagging, concrete work, backfill pipe

· Basic troubleshooting

Required Skills/Abilities:

· Reliable transportation to and from work

· Strong work ethic

· Physical Organization and time management

· Flexibility in hours - overtime, night work, and weekend hours may be necessary

· Working knowledge of general hand tools and power tools

· CDL License a plus

· Passing a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening is required and a background check will be conducted

· Consent to a DMV license evaluation

· Must have or be willing to obtain an OSHA 10 Hour Safety Certificate

Physical Requirements:

· Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds

· Observe and comply with necessary PPE requirements

· Must be able to work in a noisy area with many odors present

· Bending, stretching, stooping, kneeling, crawling and squatting

· Standing for an extended period of time.

Other Preferred Qualities:

• Ability to read and understand SDS

• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)

• High school diploma or GED - a two year technical degree is preferred

• Basic math skills

Position is considered full time, but seasonal in nature, with anticipated lay-off in the November thru March timeframe. Site specific locations may have varying seasonal requirements that can extend or contract these timeframes.
