Position: Trailer Repair Technician – Fleet Operations

Position Type: Direct Hire

Location: Montgomery, NY

Pay: up to $30.82/hr. (based on experience)

Shift: 1st shift 7:00am – 3:30pm (M-F)

Position Summary:

The Trailer Repair Technician will perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on transportation trailers and converter dollies. This role focuses on non-powered equipment, including air brake and electrical systems. The ideal candidate has hands-on trailer mechanic experience, strong diagnostic skills, and the ability to work safely in a fast-paced fleet maintenance environment. CDL is not required.

Position Responsibilities:

Perform preventative maintenance and necessary repairs on trailers and converter dollies

Diagnose and repair air brake systems and electrical systems

Bend, stoop, squat, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb ladders and stairs, stand, walk, and pivot throughout the workday

Lift, push, pull, and manipulate equipment weighing up to 70 lbs; assist with moving items up to 150 lbs

Use power, pneumatic, and hand tools safely and effectively

Operate standard/manual transmission vehicles as needed

Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times

Meet requirements to become Power Industrial Truck Operations (PITO) certified

Work cooperatively in a diverse team environment

Maintain safety awareness through effective communication and situational awareness

Work in varying temperatures and outdoor conditions as required

Position Requirements:

U.S. citizen or authorized to work in the U.S.

Documented trailer mechanic experience

Experience using diagnostic equipment, scan tools, and computers

Must possess a full complement of personal hand tools

Employer will not sponsor visas for this position

Strong attention to safety and detail
