Job Description
You will join the Buying & Merchandising Department at Zadig & Voltaire’s headquarters in New York.
You will work closely with the Retail, Planning, Supply Chain, Digital, and Global Merchandising teams to optimize product offering across North America store network.
The Associate Buyer helps drive the RTW business and is accountable to help achieve sales and margin objectives. The Associate Buyer will partner with the Sr. Merchandising Manager to develop and execute a strategy for assortment planning, and manage relationships with our partners in Paris, to maximize sales and exceed customer expectations. The Associate Buyer plays a lead role in the merchandising process and product lifecycle.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Analytics & Performance Management
Drive weekly, monthly and seasonal performance analysis to inform assortment decisions and optimize revenue, margin and inventory efficiency. (sell-out, stock, sell-through, margin)
Analyze business at category, store, and SKU level
Identify risks and growth opportunities and define action plans accordingly
Support and manage rolling seasonal OTB planning
Prepare weekly, seasonal, and ad hoc business recaps with financial performance analysis
Build and continuously improve reporting tools and dashboards
Conduct end-of-collection reviews (qualitative & quantitative) identifying successes and growth levers
Monitor competitive landscape (product offering, pricing, positioning)
Assortment & Buying Strategy
Contribute to and drive seasonal assortment planning for RTW US
Prepare and develop buying tools for each showroom session (4 collections per year)
Support buying strategy using key KPIs
Consolidate buy volumes by store cluster, product, and size
Present seasonal assortment insights and strategy to management
Product Lifecycle & Permanent Management
Oversee product lifecycle from showroom selection to end-of-season
Manage Permanent assortment depth and replenishment
Monitor style performance and manage exits when needed
Adjust assortment based on pricing, sell-through, and market feedback
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Production and Supply Chain to monitor inbound deliveries and potential delays
Coordinate with Retail and VM on product placement and assortment deployment
Collaborating with Marketing and E-commerce on product highlights
Support Training teams to ensure strong product knowledge across stores
Act as contact point for selected Department Store initiatives
Retail Communication & Assortment Deployment
Create and update the seasonal collection book and visual assortment guidelines for boutiques
Ensure alignment between assortment strategy and in-store product communication
Support retail teams with product storytelling and assortment visibility tools
Qualifications
You hold a bachelor’s degree and have at least 2- 3 year of experience (internship, fixed-term contract, or apprenticeship) in a similar role.
Dynamic, analytical, and highly collaborative, you are proactive and quickly autonomous.
You have a strong affinity for numbers, with excellent analytical skills, rigor, and organization. Financial, strategic, and planning skills.
You demonstrate strong product sensitivity and genuine interest in the fashion industry. Creative vision and awareness of trends
Working closely with multiple internal stakeholders, you are recognized for your interpersonal skills, open-mindedness, and adaptability. xywuqvp
